KABUL, August 12 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces have killed six insurgents in an operation against Taliban in Farah province, west of Afghanistan, spokesman of the army in the region said Wednesday.
"The troops backed by the international force raided militants' hideouts in Bakwah district late Tuesday night, killing six militants," Abdul Basir Ghori told Xinhua.
One militant was arrested, he said.
There were no casualties on the troops, the spokesman added.
Taliban militants who have vowed to derail the coming Aug. 20 election are yet to make any comment.
