China's 'distinctive' model of modernization has been proceeding smoothly with the country's own national characteristics and offers a comprehensive example of how to achieve development, a prominent British scholar has said in London. Martin Jacques, former senior fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies of Cambridge University, said that Chinese modernization is different from Western models and has provided for basis to achieve rapid development across various social sectors.
